Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Tea

Great Taste Award - Winning Hot Chocolate

In Suffolk we are so fortunate to have two of the country’s leading bean to bar chocolate makers, Pump Street Chocolate and Tosier Chocolate.

Whisked to a deliciously warming chocolate lovers dream, you are able to choose from Pump Street’s 60% Ecuador or other options from Tosier Chocolate including their 70% Haiti or 70% Belize.  If you like a hint of coffee, there is always Tosier’s Colombian with added Monmouth Coffee – that just hits the right spot!

With the exception of the 60% Ecuador, all the chocolate choices are vegan friendly so if you would prefer oat milk or soya milk you are very welcome – just let me know.

Dawn from Yaffle House makes the most amazing ‘Mega Marshmallows’ and not only do we offer a vanilla option, but Dawn rises to the challenge of ‘special’ flavours – so it may be orange, mint or even Baileys – all squidgy and fresh, just as they should be.

My entry in the 2020 Great Taste Awards was made using Tosier’s 70% Haiti chocolate.  Winning a 2* Gold, the judges described it as ‘a cup of wonderful texture and deep, dark, delicious flavour’.

Monmouth’s Coffee

I am so proud to serve Monmouth’s amazing coffee.  Based in Bermondsey, London, Monmouth really are a very well respected coffee roaster and if any of you have queued outside their shop in Borough Market you will appreciate that the wait is worth it.

Monmouth source the coffee beans from single farms, estates and cooperatives directly ensuring a fair price is paid.  Freshly roasted for me every fortnight, I serve their Espresso blend and also offer a small selection of their retail coffee as beans, cafetiere grind or stove top.

Tea

The Rare Tea Company

I am not a tea shop, but sometimes customers just wish to sit and have a pot of tea.  I met Henreitta Lovel (the Tea Lady) a few years ago when she kindly talked me through the world of tea.  Her company was founded in 2004 to source and supply the World’s best tea – direct from the farmers and their tea gardens.  She now supplies the finest restaurants from Claridges to The Parlour!
